The Whisperers series takes place on a world facing its end. The end begins in Book One as a cataclysmic natural disaster, a meteor strike, leaves devastation in its wake. Most of the planet is uninhabitable, and the few survivors must learn to work together if they are going to live. But Dark forces have other plans and use some of the survivors to bring further destruction. It is up to a child born with mystical powers, those who follow her, and the Whisperers to stop the Dark Ones from taking over the world. In Book Two, the survivors mourn. Their leaders and resources are gone, and their world has plunged into darkness. Hope seems a distant memory. The group of survivors splinters and relationships are broken. While evil plots the culmination of its plan to seal the eternal fate of the world, the Whisperers lead one group of survivors to their only hope, a hidden orb that can pierce the darkness enveloping their world. To find the orb, the ravaged group faces a series of trials they can only complete with the help of the Whisperers. Book Three follows the group as, aided by the Whisperers, they are tasked with opening a portal to another world before their sky light goes supernova. On the way to the mountain, the Dark Ones confront them, and they face unspeakable loss and war. They must face their own despair and fear, overcome their desire for power, reach the high mountain, defeat the dark forces, and open the portal before it is too late.

We are created to be Seekers. According to Jesus, seeking His Kingdom is the only quest that truly matters. Jesus refers to His Kingdom as a treasure hidden in a field and a pearl of unmatched value, and He instructs us to sell all we have in this world to purchase the field and the pearl. God provides us with a map to His Kingdom treasures in Scripture. Through parables and other teachings, and through the example of His life, Jesus reveals the nature, qualities, characteristics, and locus of His great treasures. This book draws on all the resources in Scripture to create a treasure map - a guide to seeking the Kingdom of God. As you read, you are taken on a quest to find your true identity, to reclaim your authority, to experience His indwelling Spirit more fully, to better understand and receive His protection, to celebrate your sanctification, to receive God's wisdom, to delight in the true freedom of His love, and to live in the Kingdom of God now. I pray, at the end of this quest, fear and shame will no longer dictate your choices, and you will find yourself more intimately connected to Jesus, more aware of who you are in Christ, more grounded and strengthened to stand in His authority, more confident in your position as heir to His Kingdom, and more certain of His love for you. If you follow the treasure map, you will be well on your way in your quest to seek the Kingdom life.

Strength in our Story is an 8-week Bible study of the story of Joseph, designed to help you discover healing and hope in life’s darkest moments. Everyone can relate to some aspect of Joseph’s story, making studying his story a very relevant experience for us all. Now, more than ever, we need authentic answers and genuine hope. Through the use of these materials, individuals are able to gain context for life experiences and events, find healing, and build God-focused communities. As a result of the fallen nature of this world, all of us have experienced wounding repeatedly through ongoing neglect, betrayal, and injustice, which are like waves crashing against the shore, eroding the soul, redefining the individual’s true identity, and trapping the individual in a prison of lies. Many of us have experienced specific traumatic events in our lives, and everyone has experienced loss. Using the story of Joseph as the base story for this study, we will look at the personal experience of trauma and loss over time, and the wounding of the heart and soul that results. In healing the soul, restoring the true identity, and removing the lie beliefs through reinterpretation of painful circumstances, the strength in our story may be seen.

Wilderness Meditations is a book of devotions for reading and study during the 40 days of Lent. During prayer, the author, Dr. Donna Lane, received a prompting from Jesus to write Wilderness Meditations as a Lenten sacrifice of praise, instead of doing the more typical Lenten sacrifice of giving up something like a specific food or activity. Each morning, she would rise early, spend time in prayer and meditation, and then write what she felt the Lord was leading her to say for that day. As a result, the book contains devotions for each of the 40 days of Lent, along with devotions for Palm Sunday and Easter. Even though the book was designed for use over Lent as a journey toward deeper relationship with Jesus in preparation for the celebration of Easter, it is also appropriate for times of fasting, and for general spiritual growth and development. It can be used individually, or in small groups as a study guide, as well as for spiritual growth retreats. The focus of the devotions is on discovering the nature of God, developing an intimate, personal connection with Jesus, deepening your prayer life, and gaining a greater understanding of truth. Each devotion includes a theme for meditation for that day, all centering on the character of Christ. Each devotion and meditation can be easily completed in about 15 minutes, facilitating the reader's ability to complete the readings daily, even for those with busy schedules; however, for those individuals who want to deepen the experience, ample Scripture verses and opportunity for deeper reflection is available, as well as space for taking notes and exploring in prayer the themes presented.

Restored Christianity, co-authored by a Christian counselor and an historian of early Christianity, integrates historical analysis with an in-depth examination of the current state of Christian belief toward restoring the earliest known, foundational beliefs of Christianity and applying those restored beliefs to contemporary life in order to bring healing to the aspects of today's church that can be detrimental to its members or may keep non-believers away. The authors don't shy away from controversy, challenging both the Church, and individual Christians and non-Christians, to evaluate currently held beliefs and embrace an intimate relationship with God. The authors confront current beliefs about such topics as the nature of God, the mysteries of God, the intention and use of the Bible, the meaning of faith, the sovereignty of God, our purpose, suffering, and the efficacy of prayer. The authors use Paul's letters for their evaluations, based on these documents standing as the earliest known Christian writings. According to the authors, "It became apparent to us that historical knowledge is vital for understanding Christianity, both at the time of its conception as well as today. At the same time, we have witnessed how some of the present-day beliefs espoused by the Church have wounded its members, and given those individuals outside of the Church a negative impression of Christ's character. We wrote this book with the hope of planting a seed that could grow and blossom into a renewed understanding and experiencing of a deep, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ." The 2nd Edition adds 200 pages of information, including a new chapter devoted to prayer.

Trauma Narrative Treatment is a brief treatment model for groups, designed to be used in conjunction with the story, Gold Stone, also written by David and Donna Lane. In response to the need for brief trauma treatment following the devastating Haitian earthquake, Lane and Lane developed a narrative treatment model using a wide range of elements from narrative and trauma research to create a program that addresses the variety of issues resulting from trauma, including the immediate shock, grief and loss, loss of a sense of self, fragmentation of memory, feelings of guilt and self-blame, rage and powerlessness, religious/spiritual responses, and the construction of a new narrative for the victim’s life. The model centers on the story, Gold Stone, written by the Lanes, which can be easily shared with individuals who experience trauma. Following along with the main character of the story, participants share their trauma experiences, and begin the process of finding meaning in their experiences, reconnecting with their sense of self to reestablish wholeness. The model is structured into six sessions, to be used with groups, and is designed to be easily implemented by non-therapist trained volunteers and lay people, allowing intervention to take place immediately with a goal of preventing the development of long term trauma-related pathology. Since Haiti, the materials have been used with community workers in Newtown, CT, following the Sandy Hook School shooting, and in the Dominican Republic, Rwanda, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Uganda, and the Middle East.

Adrift in sea of hopelessness brought about by the annihilation of his family and community at the hand of early discoverers of the "New World," the young Caonaciba faces the decision confronting every victim of trauma: "Do I choose death or life?" The utter simplicity of the story reveals the hand of master storytellers whose gifts for narrative are enhanced by their intricate knowledge of the human psyche and their redeeming outlook on life. Yvonne Gabriel's inviting drawings illustrate the depths of Caonaciba's paralyzing despair, the abiding presence of the guardian dove, and Caonaciba's painful hesitancy on moving forward. The story can be read on many levels. Its simple story line and winsome pictures appeal to children of all ages, while its timeless message of hope and regeneration engages the brokenness descriptive of the human condition.

Please Share the Door, I'm Freezing is a marriage workbook designed to help couples create the oneness in their marriage that God desires and describes. Authors Donna and David Lane, who are both Christian counselors and professors of counseling, bring the additional perspective of having been successful in marriage for over 35 years. Topics include God's basic elements for a happy marriage, identifying and removing beliefs that create division and destroy relationships, praying together effectively, submitting to each other in love, avoiding pitfalls, living in peace, becoming allies instead of adversaries, partnering with God, and bearing good fruit in marriage. The Lanes believe that being fully who God created us to be is the only way to live fully as one in our marriage. As a result, the workbook also offers suggestions for strengthening our relationship with God and for personal growth, while providing steps for deepening marriage relationships. Each chapter builds on the previous section, allowing couples to learn new concepts while reinforcing earlier ideas and strategies. Each section ends with discussion questions for couples to complete together, and easy-to-understand homework to practice what the couple is learning. The Lanes review common problems in marriages and reveal basic tactics used by the enemy of God to destroy marriages. They present clear, step-by-step strategies to overcome those common problems, and to stand against, and with the help of God to defeat, those tactics that create division. The workbook is designed in such a way that it can be used by couples on their own, in small groups, and in church programs, retreats, and seminars. It is also an effective tool for premarital work, where young couples can establish healthy patterns of relating for the entirety of their marriage.
